I ship Discuna (Luna and Discord) ! Pinkie Pie and Discord is just weird lol

Balance and harmony.

The Equestrian Code of Morals emphasizes love, tolerance, harmony and equilibrium. There's not so much a yin/yang here because Pinkie is not a basic force of the universe. I recognize that Pinkie definitely has some mojo going for her, however! She has not been given the level of exercised control that Discord, Luna, Celestia, Chrysalis and Mi Amore Cadenza have been given.

Pinkie Pie also doesn't have the focus that any of the above mentioned characters have. Her focus is very short-term and altruistic while still being in the spirit of fun. That being said, the relationship I've perceived as existing between Discord and Pinkie is that of animus/anima. Body and soul, as it were.

Pinkie is a very pure soul- fun, light, joy and merriment. Her joy is meant to be shared. The one time we do see Pinkie become exceedingly selfish is when she feels excluded. The old adage states that those who laugh the most have also cried the hardest. Hence the emergence of the fan-dubbed Pinkimina. Being a world of harmony, every single pony, griffin, phoenix, etc has another side to them. Somewhere in Celestia is a tyrranical despot who would see the world burn under the sun. Celestia has embraced balance and therefore does not seek destruction. Gilda has a side of her that is more vulnerable than Fluttershy- she just hasn't embraced her own fragility. Pinkie has embraced harmony- she's something of a prodigy in it. She knew that joy has a transforming property to it that can change the world. That's her mission- to make people happy.

Discord, on the other hand, is all about bringing joy to himself- and sharing that joy with others. The joy he finds, however, is so outside the norm that most ponies cannot begin to wrap their heads around it, let alone accept or revel in it. This mirrors the "quirkiness" that Pinkie exhibits near-constantly. Individuality of expression links Pinkie and Discord. They live by their own rules. They love and express that love through completely unexpected means. The difference here is:

Pinkie: I love to see you smile.
Discord: You're not SMILING!!!!! *eeeevil eye twitch/glimmer*

Pinkie and Discord both embrace pleasure- Pinkie knows that chocolate makes ponies happy. So, chocolate rain (FREE HAPPINESS) is right up her alley. It is when Discord turns against the ones she loves- when he isolates her- that Pinkie becomes something other than the joy-bringer for all. It's when our darling party girl stops giving that she becomes something to be feared.

Discord's focus is on himself- the immediate rush of heady power and control- the mind-job body buzz that comes from jerking others around. He recognizes that entropy is a self-supporting system. All one needs is a catalyst. The reason he shows interest in the magical ponies is that they are means to an end- he can mess more deeply with ponies more remotely using OTHERS' magic in addition to his own. Every despot needs minions.

Pinkie would be attractive to Discord for any number of reasons but the thing I see most as being attractive to Discord about Pinkie is that she has risen above her limitations (no magic, can't fly) to create her own magic. She's recognized her limits and worked her way around them. She has the tenacity to TRULY screw with others in a way that Discord absolutely relishes. She breaks the fourth wall often. She ignores the laws of physics. She is a tool he cannot let lay. While being used, she also proves herself useful. A despot ALSO needs USEFUL minions. I defy anyone who deals with Pinkie NOT to fall in love with her.

I just love the two together, always thought so. I really think that Pinkie and Discord have a lot to offer eachother, and in fact could be soulmates. They would be that couple where they would be the best of friends as well, and their personalities bounce off eachother perfectly.

Oh, and IMAGINE THE PARTIES!

1. Discord is best pony, Pinkie is best god of chaos

2. Chocolate rain, and Discord says himself that Pinkie represent his favourite element (which translates into "She's my favourite" for shipper-heads)

3. Instead of balancing each other out, they're like a giant snowball just edging each other on. The thought is hilarious!

4. Discord is Pinkie's bitch, he doesn't know it yet, but when he does, he's gonna enjoy it!

I like to think of it as Celestia and Discord had something way back, +1000ish years ago, but not any longer due to several reasons (eternal chaos could have been a minor reason maybe?) but hey, most people don't stay together with their teen crush their entire lives

idk... i dont really supportint. but im not against it either. mainly because im a discordXcelestia shipper and a pinkie X pokey shipper. but im tolerate for the couple and im not afraid to say there are a few dispie ship pics in my favorites
